"There's a special kind of peace that comes over me when I am the only person for what feels like miles around. In this case, I was super close to the heart of Venice Beach California, but at 3 am I felt like the only person on earth alive. I can think better at moments like that. I become more focused, thoughts become sharper, and things that were in my head become clearer. Some of my clearest thinking and best moments of life-changing clarity have happened when I've pushed myself to be up waiting for a magical moment in the hours when the rest of the world sleeps."
